The Roman statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero, whose orations were familiar to high school students back when Latin and other real subjects were taught, before the days of social promotions and self-esteem, lived from 106BC to 43BC. Thus he never met Barack Husein Obama, the big 'O'.
Cicero lived at the height of the Roman age. The decline and fall came 500 years later, so it is doubtful that Cicero met anyone remotely like Obama or any of our contemporary politicians, yet somehow this quote by Cicero about the big 'O' survives:
"O, wretched man, wretched not just because of what you are, but also because you do not know how wretched you are!"
Uncanny. Let's see Nostradamus top that!
