Levi's come out of the closet (my closet)

As a dedicated, alleged, suspected right-wing extremist, I have a long list of websites and blogs that I visit every day to get my news and inspiration. Their common theme is taking our country back from the marxist thugs and corrupt politicians currently in power, most of them advocate doing so by peaceful means.

Sometimes they mention other news items, which was how I found this reference to Levi's. Now, I've been wearing blue jeans since I was a kid in the 1950s. Back then we called them dungarees. I've worn jeans in Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Australia, Germany, France, Belgium, England and Ireland. I've worn jeans in 2/3 of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. As Johnny Cash would have said: "I've worn jeans everywhere, man!"

As an adopted Texan, I find that there's no place that I go that a clean pair of jeans and a nice shirt is not acceptable attire. If it takes more than that, I don't go there. I do have a suit in the back of the closet for emergencies, - like if they need to bury me.

I've always favored Wranglers or Walmart jeans for some reason. Maybe because I wore Wranglers when I was a kid, and now that I'm older, my thrifty Scottish blood favors the Walmart prices. I probably have owned some Levi's along the line though.

After reading this article, (click on my title above to read it), I'm going to weed through my closet and if I find any Levi's, they're going in the trash; and my wife is getting instructions to never bring any Levi's home, not even if they're on sale AND she has a coupon.

Thumbs Down - Lousy Plot

I've been reading a book lately that really sucks. It's a suspense/thriller, and normally I love that genre, but I may not even finish this one, I don't think the ending is going to be very satisfactory anyway.

It started out with the unlikely scenario of an anti-American corrupt politician being elected president and appointing all his cohorts to positions of power in the government. He has control of the congress and will soon have control of the supreme court. There's nothing subtle about his character, he's an obvious badguy with no redeeming good qualities, just like one of James Bond's old adversaries.

The guy has alienated all of our allies and emboldened all of our potential enemies. At the point where I stopped reading, North Korea was threatening to start a nuclear war, Iran was threatening to wipe our former ally, Israel, off the map, the government has taken over the auto companies and the banks, and Mexico has invaded the Southern states.

The worst part was that the hero who was going to save us from all of these multiple catastrophies has not even been introduced yet. Half way through the book, simultaneous unlikely calamities happening, and no hero has appeared. This book is very unrealistic, the plot sucks, and the author is hopeless. I will not read any more of his books.

Kim Jong Il didn't get the message.

Hillary Clinton is in deep doo-doo. While Obama was apologizing all over Europe and the Middle East, she was supposed to be doing the same duty in Asia, but she missed the stop in North Korea where she was supposed to grovel before Kim Jong Il and beg his forgiveness for our actions in the Korean conflict of 1950 - 53.

Kim is so pissed-off about the snub that he has been buiding and blowing up nuclear devices, and firing off missiles like bottle rockets. He has repudiated the 1953 cease-fire which ended the conflict that never really ended, and has threatened to attack any U.S. or S. Korean Naval or merchant ships found in a west coastal area where the boundary is disputed.

Kim probably can't hit the U.S. with one of his nukes yet (unless he sticks it in a shipping container on a freighter). But he could easily strike our allies, S. Korea and Japan, both of which have a large U.S. military population. Would Obama throw them all under the bus? - Well, he might send a strongly worded memo to the United Nations Security Council demanding that North Korea be censured for its actions. And he might threaten to stop sending them foreign aid if they ever nuke anyone again.

Should have made that apology trip, Hillary. Then Kim would see that we're a strong, resolute nation and he wouldn't dare act hostile.

Freedom isn't Free.

Freedom isn't free. It's very expensive. Every American Veteran paid for our freedom. Some paid more than others. On Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th, we remember those who paid with all they could give.

In Praise Of Nuclear Weapons

(click title to view original article on Strategy Page.)

May 21, 2009: Nuclear weapons have only been used twice in war, but their continued existence has created a new dynamic between the major military powers. This nuclear standoff came to be known as "mutually assured destruction" (MAD) during the Cold War. As a result of MAD, there has not been a war between the Great Powers in Europe since the surrender of Nazi Germany on May 8, 1945, a peace that has lasted over 60 years. This is the longest period of major-power peace in Europe since before the fall of Rome 1500 years ago. The second-longest such period of peace among the European Great Powers was 43 years between the armistice that ended the Franco-Prussian War, signed on January 31, 1871, to the Austro-Hungarian declaration of war on Serbia, on July 28, 1914, which signaled the outbreak of the First World War two days later, a total of forty-three years, five months, and twenty-eight days. In effect, since November 5, 1988, every day that the European Great Powers have not been at war with each other has set a new European regional --and pretty much a world-- record for the duration of a peace.

Proposals to get rid of nuclear weapons not only threaten to upset this peacekeeping mechanism, but ignore the fact nukes are seen by more vulnerable nations as the cheapest, and most certain, way to guarantee their survival against threats from more powerful neighbors. Give a nation a choice between guaranteeing their safety with an international treaty, or some nukes, and which option will most choose?

Moreover, you can't eliminate nukes unless you eliminate the knowledge of how to produce nuclear weapons. That cannot be done, because the basic principles of nuclear weapons construction have proliferated beyond the power of anyone to destroy that knowledge. With that knowledge, any industrialized nation can quickly build nuclear weapons.

And then there are the unintended consequences. If you were to succeed in creating an international treaty that really eliminated all nukes, that would provide more incentive to create more powerful chemical and biological weapons. What many people don't want to admit is that the genie is out of the bottle, and you can't put it back.

Since no one has died from nuclear weapons in over 60 years, and you want to eliminate a weapon of mass destruction that has killed lots of people, why not go after the private automobile (which has killed millions since 1945). What have private automobiles done for peace? Nuclear power also produces power with far less pollution, and hardly any fatalities, compared to coal, gas or oil fueled plants. Despite its virtues, all things nuclear have been demonized for several generations. So it's apparently true that good deed don't go unpunished.

Where is Pelosi?

Today is day 5 with no sightings of, or statements from, Nancy Pelosi. While much of the public is enjoying the refreshing break, others are worried about the significance of her absence.

Is she "sleeping with the fishes" in the Chicago River? Is she sequestered in an undisclosed secure location (Joe Biden's basement)?

Foul play has not been ruled out, but the prime suspect, the CIA, has presented a valid alibi.

Warrior Legacy Foundation

I read a number of military blogs and websites each day to keep in touch with my spiritual family, the young men and women who swore to support and defend the constitution of the United States. My favorite blog is BLACKFIVE - I read it first and last each day.

Introducing The Warrior Legacy Foundation
Posted By Blackfive

[This is for Schrambo, Cooter, Mikey, Andy, Erik, Shawn, Dup, Kylan, Jason, Sean, Eric, Chance, Mike and many other friends we've lost...]

---------------------------------------------------------------------

“I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free.” – Military Code of Conduct

The statement above is from the military code of conduct and has been repeated by every veteran since President Eisenhower installed it into our culture.

A month ago, bloggers like Pat Dollard and others like This Ain't Hell have remarked at the partisan nature of veteran organizations. Many of you have express frustration with the current set that attempt to represent veteran issues but seem to have ulterior motives - painting veterans as victims is an easy way to raise money and get media attention.

But what does that do the public's perception of us?

You all know the answer to that.

And you all know how BlackFive was started. I never wanted to be in this position. I was angry that my friends' sacrifices were going un-noticed and just had to do something, anything. If you can't pick up a rifle, then, then I feel you must do something to help.

On Memorial Day, six years ago, my friend gave his life to save a convoy of soldiers and two journalists. It is fitting that, this week before Memorial Day, we are talking about protecting his legacy.

A few months ago, I was talking with David Bellavia about this very issue. We talked about how the administration tried to make veterans pay for their own health care, how the DHS memos painted all veterans as right wing extremists and potential terrorists, and how there was no one, aside from the American Legion, really working to defend veterans.

So, a few of us decided to start our own foundation - non-partisan - to work with both sides of the aisle to solve veterans issues. We decided that we need to include every generation, every branch of service, in order to stand firm, back to back, and defend our family.

The Warrior Legacy Foundation is born.

And our tag-line is something that has been sworn to by every veteran since 1955. We thought that the end of the Military Code of Conduct best described what we were and what we were to do..."I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free.”

The Warrior Legacy Foundation is a non-partisan organization that is committed to the protection and promotion of the reputation and dignity of America’s Warriors.

Across every generation, at war and at peace, America has asked her citizens to protect liberty and defend freedom at all costs. No matter the terrain or political climate, America’s Warriors have met every challenge and made every sacrifice that was asked of them in order to defeat our enemies and protect our way of life. The Warrior Legacy Foundation is a passionate advocate for the preservation and elevation of the hallowed legacy of the American Warrior Class.

Join us and stand firm in defense of the heritage of those brave souls who have preserved and protected our sovereignty throughout our great nation’s history.

They have asked for nothing and have given us everything.

Please help us protect and promote the legacy of the defenders of Democracy. You can assist us by:

1. Signing up as a member. If you are a non-veteran, we need you too!

2. Contributing. Of course, you can donate to the organization (THANK YOU!) or you can volunteer to help us organize grassroots movements around the country (options available during registration). We are currently organized along national regions.

3. Telling your friends about WLF. After joining us you can refer your friends.

I had 2 full-year tours in Southeast Asia. When I came home, no one spit on me or called me a drug-crazed baby killer, but no one ever said thank you either. I felt I had done something important, and no one cared. I got over it. In recent years a few people have seen my "retired" ID card or my "disabled vet" license plates and thanked me for my service, and I've just mumbled something quietly in reply. - It's so strange to be thanked. I didn't do any of it to get anyone's thanks. I did it for me and for my military family.

I think the Warrior Legacy Foundation is an excellent idea. I joined last night and will make a contribution today. No other organization is doing what the Warrior Legacy Foundation intends to do: to present veterans as America's warrior class, the defenders of freedom. They are not the broken down detritus of our wars, they are the winners of the wars that our politicians lost.

New Intelligence Source

This morning I received an email from Barack Obama informing me of the progress that was being made in the House of Representatives on his new healthcare plan. Apparently, I am signed up to receive bulletins on healthcare matters from his highness.

I figure the way I became signed up was when I sent him an email a few months ago suggesting a candidate for surgeon general in his administration: Doctor Jack Kevorkian. A good choice, no?

If I had told Barack where to put his stimulus plan, would I now be getting economic bulletins or proctology reports?

My wife pointed out that if I didn't want mail from Obama, I could just hit the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the bulletin. I told her No way, I now have an intel source inside the enemy headquarters. A high percent of the data will be disinformation, but maybe, just maybe, they'll let Biden near the computer... and then I own them.

What is this all about?

How suspected rightist came to be:

a page from my website at www.anddomestic.com

Enemy of the State

04/16/09

I was born in the U.S.A. I have an official raised seal birth certificate to prove it. I attended old-fashioned Catholic elementary and high schools in the 1950s and early 60s. They didn't worry about my self esteem but they did give me an excellent education and taught me strong moral values. From 1963-67 I studied for the Catholic priesthood. I left the seminary with a bachelor's degree and joined the U. S. Air Force. I was commissioned and swore an oath to support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

In 1968 a near-fatal accident ended my pilot training. I was to receive a medical discharge but fought the action and was allowed to stay on duty and retrain in a different career. After learning my new skill, I volunteered for duty in Vietnam. I remained on active duty with the Air Force for ten years, which included two full years in the war and other places, doing what needed to be done. In 1977 I left active duty and entered the Air Force Reserve to continue my career on a part-time basis. I retired in 1994.

Between 1975 and 1979 I received a 2nd bachelor's degree and an MBA and began a civilian career. I took an early retirement offer from that company in 1999. Chronic pain from the 1968 accident was gaining on me.

So how did I become an enemy of the state?

Because all during the Cold-War I believed Marxist-Socialists were the enemy.

Because I think we should execute violent criminals and not babies.

Because I think the government should not be micro-managing healthcare, business or banks.

Because I think that illegal immigration is illegal.

Because I think that businesses that are run badly have the right to fail. They have no right to my money.

Because I think that people who run up debts they can not pay have the right to fail. They have no right to my money.

Because I think people who make money through corruption and influence peddling should go to jail.

Because I think that people who make money by honest skill and talent should not have to give it to slackers.

Because I think the 1st Amendment says Limbaugh, Coulter, Beck, etc are free to speak and to be heard.

Because I think the 2nd Amendment says that I have the right to protect my family if 911 response is slow.

Because I think the UN is an obsolete, corrupt, evil organization.

Because I think "global warming" is pseudo-science which has been discredited.

Because I think freedom isn't free. Generations of veterans have paid for it. Many paid the ultimate price.

Because I think the left is trying to smear the veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, just as they smeared us Vietnam veterans as drug-crazed baby-killers. Those who accused us were Obama's mentors.

Because the first words of the Constitution are "We the people", not "We the federal government".

Note to the Department of Homeland Security:

I do not hate Janet Napolitano. I wish her well in her battle with "Mad Cow" Disease.

I do not hate Barack Obama. I would not piss on him if he were on fire.

PS. Your Rightwing Extremism Intelligence Assessment is the worst written piece of drivel I have ever read. I am genuinely afraid for the security of this country if this product is typical of your intelligence work.

I will be posting more material at www.anddomestic.com and also as I take up the newer technique, I may move more  here to suspected-rightist.blogspot.com.  I like to find interesting articles and quote, borrow, steal them with my comments added. From time to time, I'll get fired up and write my own table thumping analysis of the way things are and the way they  ought to be.

I can't help it. You see, when I washed out of pilot training, I became an intelligence officer. I'm the guy who kept the commander and the aircrews advised of the badguys' locations, capabilities, intentions, etc to minimize the damage they could do to us and to maximize the destruction we could inflict on them.

We all hope that violence and weapons are not needed in the conflict to save our country. I think we are going to depend on strong willed voters who are smart enough to entrust the country to a new breed of lawful, principled leaders. I'm being awfully idealistic in that thought. We haven't demonstrated recently that we have smart voters or clean politicians. But it could happen?
