What is this all about?

How suspected rightist came to be:

Enemy of the State

04/16/09

I was born in the U.S.A. I have an official raised seal birth certificate to prove it. I attended old-fashioned Catholic elementary and high schools in the 1950s and early 60s. They didn't worry about my self esteem but they did give me an excellent education and taught me strong moral values. From 1963-67 I studied for the Catholic priesthood. I left the seminary with a bachelor's degree and joined the U. S. Air Force. I was commissioned and swore an oath to support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

In 1968 a near-fatal accident ended my pilot training. I was to receive a medical discharge but fought the action and was allowed to stay on duty and retrain in a different career. After learning my new skill, I volunteered for duty in Vietnam. I remained on active duty with the Air Force for ten years, which included two full years in the war and other places, doing what needed to be done. In 1977 I left active duty and entered the Air Force Reserve to continue my career on a part-time basis. I retired in 1994.

Between 1975 and 1979 I received a 2nd bachelor's degree and an MBA and began a civilian career. I took an early retirement offer from that company in 1999. Chronic pain from the 1968 accident was gaining on me.

So how did I become an enemy of the state?

Because all during the Cold-War I believed Marxist-Socialists were the enemy.

Because I think we should execute violent criminals and not babies.

Because I think the government should not be micro-managing healthcare, business or banks.

Because I think that illegal immigration is illegal.

Because I think that businesses that are run badly have the right to fail. They have no right to my money.

Because I think that people who run up debts they can not pay have the right to fail. They have no right to my money.

Because I think people who make money through corruption and influence peddling should go to jail.

Because I think that people who make money by honest skill and talent should not have to give it to slackers.

Because I think the 1st Amendment says Limbaugh, Coulter, Beck, etc are free to speak and to be heard.

Because I think the 2nd Amendment says that I have the right to protect my family if 911 response is slow.

Because I think the UN is an obsolete, corrupt, evil organization.

Because I think "global warming" is pseudo-science which has been discredited.

Because I think freedom isn't free. Generations of veterans have paid for it. Many paid the ultimate price.

Because I think the left is trying to smear the veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, just as they smeared us Vietnam veterans as drug-crazed baby-killers. Those who accused us were Obama's mentors.

Because the first words of the Constitution are "We the people", not "We the federal government".

Note to the Department of Homeland Security:

I do not hate Janet Napolitano. I wish her well in her battle with "Mad Cow" Disease.

I do not hate Barack Obama. I would not piss on him if he were on fire.

PS. Your Rightwing Extremism Intelligence Assessment is the worst written piece of drivel I have ever read. I am genuinely afraid for the security of this country if this product is typical of your intelligence work.

I will be posting more material at www.anddomestic.com and also as I take up the newer technique, I may move more  here to suspected-rightist.blogspot.com.  I like to find interesting articles and quote, borrow, steal them with my comments added. From time to time, I'll get fired up and write my own table thumping analysis of the way things are and the way they  ought to be.

I can't help it. You see, when I washed out of pilot training, I became an intelligence officer. I'm the guy who kept the commander and the aircrews advised of the badguys' locations, capabilities, intentions, etc to minimize the damage they could do to us and to maximize the destruction we could inflict on them.

We all hope that violence and weapons are not needed in the conflict to save our country. I think we are going to depend on strong willed voters who are smart enough to entrust the country to a new breed of lawful, principled leaders. I'm being awfully idealistic in that thought. We haven't demonstrated recently that we have smart voters or clean politicians. But it could happen?
